2)      Applicants registered in another Canadian jurisdiction (interprovincial)

3)      Applicants not currently registered in another Canadian jurisdiction (international)

The requirements for licensure for each of these pathways are included in the following linked documents:

International Applicants

If an applicant (or someone intending to apply) has questions about the registration process or requirements, they can contact the Association using the contact form on the Association website here.

Alternatively, they can email admin@ansls.ca or call the Association office at (902) 469-7962.  Additional supports for candidates are described here.

The association will respond to inquiries from applicants for registration, within a reasonable time (usually within three business days).

If an applicant is unable to submit documents required for the registration and licensing process for reasons beyond the applicants’ control, the Association of Nova Scotia Land Surveyors (ANSLS) will work with the applicant to accept alternative information.

The ANSLS Policy on Accepting Alternative Information

If an applicant informs the Association they are unable to provide the standard required information or documentation, and the Association determines there is no acceptable "alternative information", the Association will inform the applicant of this whithin a reasonable time (withing 10 days).  The Executive Director may request the applicant to provide additional information, or evidence to demonstrate why the applicant is unable to provide the required documentation.

The ANSLS Policy on Accommodation provides additional information for applicants (or someone intending to apply) who would like to apply for accomodation if they have a physical or mental disability.

Upon written request from an applicant, the Association will provide the applicant with access to records held that are related to the application.

The ANSLS Policy on Access to Records provides additional information.

During the registration process, an applicant can appeal a registration decision from the Board of Examiners.
